Dr. Ahmed is Director of Institutional Research & Planning Office (IRPO) at Ajman University. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance, Bath University, UK, 1987 and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Accounting and Finance, University of Khartoum, Sudan, 1978. He also completed six months Post-Doctorate Programmes in the United Kingdom; Small Business Centre, Cranfield University. He has an extensive academic career spanning over 35 years as a lecturer and professor in the field of Accounting and Finance at universities in Sudan, Jordan, Bahrain and the UAE. He had been in charge of the accreditation process of academic programmes at two UAE universities (Ajman University and Al-Ghurair University). He supervised a number of Ph.D. and master’s students in the fields of Accounting, Finance and Small Business Finance. As part of his research career, he has been heavily involved in research work sponsored by reputable institutions based in a number of countries. Individually and jointly, he has produced over 30 research works and participated in many conferences, seminars and workshops across the globe; His research interest is Small business finance. Micro finance institutions, agricultural credit, capital structure, credit scoring. Financing of higher education and banking industry.
