Former Acting Minister of Health, Sudan

Sara Hassanain is a public health expert with over fifteen years of experience in health system strengthening and program management. She served as undersecretary of Federal Ministry of Health and acting Minister of Health in Sudan in 2019. Previously she was the Global Fund Project management unit head for the Malaria and Resilient Health System program. She was also the lead consultant for the resource mobilization and grant making effort in coordination between UNDP, FMoH, and Global Fund. She also managed multi-disciplinary programs, focusing on chronic lung diseases prevention and control. Sara has also published several articles on decentralization, access to health and the intersection between macroeconomic policies and health system outcomes.
