Mohamed Sabry Amer

Mohamed Sabry Amer is an incoming PhD student in the Department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis (2026–2027). He currently serves as a Research Assistant at Yale University, where he utilizes machine learning techniques and large language models to construct a contentious events dataset in Jordan based on local media outlets. Prior to WashU, Sabry was a Research Associate at J-PAL MENA and held multiple research positions at Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and Yale. He earned his B.Sc. in Political Science from Cairo University in 2025. During his undergraduate career, he was a Sawiris Scholar at the University of Chicago (2024–2025) and completed a virtual exchange in machine learning through the MO:VE program at the University of Marburg.
