Asmaa Abdelkhalek

Asmaa Abdelkhalek is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and a PhD candidate at the same institution. Her doctoral research focuses on studying conflicts in the Middle East using social network analysis. She also participates in several Arab and international research groups that employ text analysis tools and satellite data to examine political phenomena—such as political discourse during periods of conflict and the use of satellite data to support government development planning. Asmaa took part in the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS), organized over two consecutive years by Linköping University and funded by the Swedish government. She has also worked on a number of research and non-research projects funded by various governments, international development organizations, and civil-society institutions, including UNICEF and Save the Children.
