Mohamed Sabry Amer is a Research Associate at J-PAL MENA and a Research Assistant at Yale. At J-PAL, he works on an RCT that evaluates interventions to improve Palestinian refugees’ mental well-being and social integration. At Yale, he works on constructing a contentious events dataset in Jordan based on local media outlets using machine learning techniques and large language models. He previously held research positions at Harvard, the University of Chicago and Yale. He graduated from Cairo University with a BA in political science in 2025. He is interested in text-as-data methodologies as well as the application of machine learning in the social sciences.
