Mohammed Al-Hashel

Professor of Finance, Qatar University

Mohammad Al-Hashel served for two decades at the Central Bank of Kuwait, lastly as the Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors for ten years from 2012 to 2022. He was recognized by renowned international institutions as a successful leader in managing multiple economic crises, skillfully implementing monetary policy, and proactively enforcing the financial sector’s soundness and resilience. Mohammad has a Ph.D. in Finance, MA in Economics, MBA, and BS in Computer Engineering. Currently, Mohammad is a Professor of Finance at Qatar University and a Senior Advisor at McKinsey, focusing on promoting global financial, monetary, and fiscal stability in collaboration with central banks, international financial organizations, academia, public and private sectors.
