Topic

Q5. Environmental Economics

This study aims to investigate growth convergence using a spatial approach. The convergence process is affected by environmental factors, according to empirical findings. This process seems to be strongly influenced by both the country’s idiosyncratic characteristics; the environmental neighboring countries’ feedback loop effect; and ecological spillover intensity. These spillovers affect not only neighbors in close vicinity (neighbors of first order or contiguous neighbors), but also concern the neighbors of higher order, and might spread to the whole region.
