Vivian Baadan

Social, Political, and Cultural Psychologist

Vivian Baadan is a social, political, and cultural psychologist with an overarching interest in social justice on the research, policy, and mobilization levels. I received my Ph.D. in social and political psychology from New York University and am currently an assistant professor at the American University of Beirut. In my research, I use a multi-method approach--bridging tools from experimental social psychology, survey research, data science, and machine learning-- and rely on large, highly powered, nationally representative samples to study psychological questions that have social impact. I study collective action and mobilization, social change, prejudice reduction, and gender equality. I am particularly interested in promoting a culturally sensitive lens in research and practice.
