Tina Zintl

Tina Zintl is Senior Researcher at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), in Bonn, Germany. Her research interests focus on employment policies, state-society relations, and gender equality as well as digital transformation, with a focus on the Mashreq region, in particular Syria and Jordan. She has extensively published on social contracts in the MENA region and beyond, including “The social contract as a tool of analysis” (World Development, 2021, with M. Loewe, A. Houdret). Other publications include “Are cash-for-work programmes good for local economic growth? The case of donor-funded public works for refugees and nationals in Jordan” (Canadian Journal of Development Studies, 2023, with M. Loewe) and “Syria from reform to revolt” (Syracuse University Press, 2015, co-ed. with R. Hinnebusch). Tina received her PhD from the University of St Andrews, Scotland.
