Taieb Hafsi
Strategy and Society Chair Professor, HEC Montreal
Taïeb Hafsi is the Strategy and Society chair professor at HEC Montreal, the business school of the University of Montreal. He teaches, mostly by the case method, various topics related to business policy and strategic change. In his research he focuses mostly on issues related to managing complex organizations, such as large diversified firms, geographically dispersed organizations, state-owned firms and governments. He has been awarded several prizes of which the 1998 Coopers-Lybrand best business book award, the 2000 Outstanding teacher award (a once in a career recognition award), the 2001 François-Albert Angers best teaching book award, the Canadian journal of administrative sciences’ 1990 and 2004 best paper awards, The Public Administration Review best 2007 article award, the 2009 Quebec publishing houses best business book award, the 2018 best strategy article of the Administrative Science Association of Canada conference, and the 2019 second best paper of the Academy of Management’s Organization and Management Theory section.
