Samar Abdelmageed is an assistant lecturer at the Business Administration Department, Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science, the British University in Egypt (BUE). She graduated from the Statistics Department, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, Egypt. She obtained her master’s degree in International Business Administration from Ajou University in South Korea as a scholarship granted from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). She is currently a PhD student majoring in finance at Ain Shams University in Egypt. Ms. Samar has worked as a statistical researcher at the Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) where she participated in preparing many studies and reports about different economic and social issues in Egypt through which she complemented her academic and educational background with practical and hands-on experience in empirical research. She also recently served this year as a UN volunteer where she was assigned by the UN Volunteers organization to work as a research analyst at the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Cairo, Egypt. Her research interests include a variety of topics in labor economics; financial markets; competition policies; micro, small and medium Enterprises (SMEs); and women's economic and political empowerment.
