Rohit Ticku

Adjunct Professor of Economics, University of Bologna

Dr. Rohit Ticku is a Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (European University Institute) and Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna. He previously held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Chapman University’s Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Society. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, where his dissertation won the Alumni Association Prize for best thesis in Development Economics (2017–2023). His research uncovers the hidden externalities of globalization—how trade, institutions, and environmental pressures shape resources, conflict, and long-run development. His work has been published in journals including The Journal of Economic History, Journal of Comparative Economics, and World Development.
