Rasha Hassan

Research Consultant

Rasha Hassan, PhD, is a social science researcher with over 15 years of expertise in qualitative research, focusing on the intersections of gender, vulnerability, refugees, employment, the digital economy, and climate change. Her work predominantly centers on the MENA region, where she has played a key role in advancing knowledge and shaping policy. As a Research Associate at the Economic Research Forum (ERF), Rasha leads critical research initiatives, including those exploring the role of MSMEs in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth within the context of the clean energy transition. Throughout her career, Rasha has served as a senior researcher and consultant for several prominent national and international organizations, including the Population Council, GIZ, ERF, Red Sur, IDRC, USAID, and The Egyptian Center for Public Opinion (Bassera). Her research has been published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals such as Health Promotion International, and Global Social Welfare. Additionally, she has contributed to significant volumes on labor markets in the MENA region, published by Oxford University Press. Rasha’s extensive portfolio also encompasses impactful work on human rights, gender mainstreaming, and socio-economic mobility, where her rigorous analyses have significantly influenced both national and regional policies.
