Dr. Naima Lassoued is an accomplished academic, researcher, and Professor of Finance at the Higher School of Business (ESB) at Manouba University in Tunisia. She holds a Habilitation in Finance from the University of Manouba and has over 15 years of academic and research experience. Her research primarily explores the intersection of corporate finance, governance, and sustainability. Key areas of her work include: Corporate Governance & Ownership: Studies examining how political connections, state ownership, and board structures impact bank efficiency and firm performance. ESG & Sustainability: Investigations into corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies, excessive ESG disclosure, and economic risk mitigation. Banking & Financial Reporting: Research focusing on earnings management, audit quality, and risk-taking in both conventional and Islamic banking systems. Entrepreneurship: Analyses of SME financing patterns, capital structures, and the impact of entrepreneur attributes in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries.
