Mazen Diwani is an Economist with seven years of full-time working experience within the banking and economic consultancy sectors and spent more than nine years in academia. He was awarded the PhD Fellowship of Excellence for Foreign Nationals Educated Abroad at the Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD in Models for Economics and Finance. He obtained B.Sc. in Economics from Damascus University in Syria (2008), and MSc in Finance from Lund University in Sweden (2010). He has recently accepted a position at De Montfort University in the city of Almaty (Kazakhstan). His research interests intersect with furthering his understanding of the applied micro-econometric methodologies in labour market research, measuring individual and social well-being, and analysis of the effects of socio-economic and demographic factors on an individual’s life course.
