Linda Smail

Associate Professor, College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Zayed University

Dr. Linda Smail is an Associate Professor in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University. She holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Economics from London School of Economics, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Marne-la-Vallée University, France. Her research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, and interdisciplinary fields, such as Public Health and Entrepreneurship, where she applies Bayesian Networks and graphical models to solve complex problems, especially in decision making under uncertainty. Although Dr. Smail's primary scholarly focus is on applied mathematics and statistics, she has a strong passion for interdisciplinary research. Her latest research projects delve into the quality of life of Emirati women with breast and cervical cancer and the entrepreneurial intentions of Emirati youth. Dr. Smail is an inspiring teacher and mentor who strives to inspire her students to become lifelong learners and pursue their passions with dedication and perseverance.
