Hosam Ibrahim

PhD Candidate, Department of Applied Economics, University of Minnesota

I am a PhD candidate in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota, entering the academic job market in September 2025. My research lies at the intersection of development, labor, and agricultural economics, with a focus on empirical methods including field experiments and causal inference using ML and administrative data. I am curious about how households in low- and middle-income countries make decisions under constraints, particularly in the domains of education, fertility, and agriculture. My projects emphasize real-world impact generating evidence that speaks to sustainable rural development through agriculture and food security, education reform, and labor market dynamics. I am actively seeking collaborations that advance these goals. www.hosamibrahim.com
