Binnur Balkan is a Ph.D. Candidate at Stockholm School of Economics. Balkan was also a Teaching Assistant at the Stockholm School of Economics. She received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Economics and a Master's of Science Degree in Economics from Bilkent University. Balkan worked as a Junior Economist and Researcher at the Central Bank of Turkey. Binnur has 3 publications to date, "Immigration and prices: quasi-experimental evidence from Syrian refugees in Turkey", "Overview of Firm-Size and Gender Pay Gaps in Turkey: The Role of Informal Employment" and "Firm-Size Wage Gaps along the Formal-Informal Divide: Theory and Evidence". Lastly, she received the Kuznets Prize in 2017.
