Adla Ragab

Professor of Economics and Director, Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University

Dr. Adla Ragab is a Professor of Economics at Cairo University’s Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS), where she serves as Director of the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies, Director of the AI-Driven Economic Observatory, and Coordinator of the Migration Research Unit. She is also a Member of Parliament serving on the Tourism and Aviation Committee, and sits on the House of Experts for Social Issues of Egyptian Society. Dr. Ragab has held prominent public leadership roles, including First Vice Minister of Tourism (2017–2018), Economic Advisor to Ministers of Tourism (2006–2017), and First Chairperson of Misr Travel (2019). A leading voice in national strategy, she served as General Coordinator of Egypt’s Tourism Satellite Account (2008–2018), contributed to the Tourism Strategic Sustainable Plan 2020, and led the update for "Egypt Vision 2030" (2020–2021). Her academic leadership includes serving as Vice Dean for Community Services and Environment Development at FEPS (2010–2012). She is currently a Board Member of the Tourism & Antiquities Fund, a Board Member for the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science at The British University in Egypt (BUE), and a member of both the Supreme Council of Universities and the Council of Culture and Knowledge at the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology. An active researcher, consultant, and trainer specializing in transport and tourism economics with numerous academic publications, Dr. Ragab holds a B.Sc., Master’s, and Ph.D. in Economics from FEPS, Cairo University, following her earlier education at a French school.
