Abdulmajeed Alshatti

Abdulmajeed Alshatti is an independent economics advisor specializing in the fields of public policy, energy, finance, and the economics of social media. He has held prominent positions in various Kuwaiti organizations, including membership in the Supreme Petroleum Council and the Board of Directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, and several other Kuwaiti companies. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait and was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Banking Association. Mr. Alshatti began his career at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), initially as a researcher and later as the manager of the economics department., he also held the role of Manager of International Relations at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Worked at the Securities Group company. Mr. Alshatti participated in various studies and research projects while at KISR and KPC. He was the project Coordinator for the important “Kuwait Economy Study “in 1988, a joint project between KISR, KU, MIT and Harvard. He was also a member of several committees at the National level and Kuwait Fund for Advancement of Sciences and the two committees for the selection of KISR’s Director general. He was member of Kuwait’s delegation to OPEC during his tenure at KPC, and was part of the Kuwait National Delegations to several COP meetings, Abdulmajeed Alshatti earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Syracuse University and pursued post-graduate studies in Engineering Economics Systems at Stanford University.
