Abdullah Altun is an Associate Professor of Economics at Gebze Technical University, Türkiye. His research focuses on global value chains (GVCs), international trade and economic development, with a particular emphasis on the green and digital transitions. He examines how GVCs, climate policies and AI-driven trade analytics interact to shape productivity, emissions and competitiveness in emerging and advanced economies. Dr. Altun has held visiting scholar positions at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government, the University of Warsaw and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Beyond academia, he advises public institutions and policy platforms on accessible urban mobility, sustainable energy strategies and new approaches in international trade. His work has been published in leading journals and contributes to ongoing debates at the intersection of trade, sustainability and technological change.
