Saoussen Ben Romdhane is a trade specialist currently leading business development at the Office for MENA countries at the International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint UN-WTO agency based in Geneva. Her expertise spans international trade, e-commerce, digital trade, regional integration and aid for trade within the MENA and GCC countries. Before joining ITC, Saoussen held significant roles including Trade Affairs Officer at the European Delegation to Tunisia, Regional Integration Expert at the African Development Bank, and Economic Advisor to the Government of Dubai. Saoussen began her career as a university lecturer and is a prolific author of academic publications, research papers, reports, and policy briefs on international trade. She recently contributed to the 2022 report on Trade Liberalization and Jobs in the Mediterranean, published by the Center of Mediterranean Integration (CMI), in collaboration with ITC, ERF, and FEMISE. She has also co-edited the book Unlocking North Africa’s Potential through Regional Integration: Challenges and Opportunities and contributed to Democratic Transitions in the Arab World, published by Cambridge University.
