Yasmine Abdelfattah is an Assistant Professor of Statistics and Economics at the University of Prince Edward Island – Cairo Campus, and adjunct professor at the American University in Cairo and University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She is also a Research Fellow at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne. Dr. Abdelfattah holds a PhD in Statistics and a Master’s in Econometrics from Cairo University. Her research focuses on Energy, Environment, and Development Economics, particularly climate change impacts, energy poverty, and labor market outcomes in the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa. Using applied statistics, spatial econometrics, and randomized control trials, she addresses key challenges in sustainable development. Her work has appeared in journals including the Journal of Development Economics, Economic Modelling, Applied Economics, and the Middle East Development Journal.
