Samantha Borkhoche

Samantha Borkhoche is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2025, she earned her Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University. She teaches undergraduate courses in international economics, political economy, and macroeconomics, as well as a graduate course in advanced macroeconomics for the Applied Economics Master's Program. Her research lies at the intersection of international macroeconomics, development economics, and applied econometrics, with a focus on policy-relevant issues affecting developing and emerging economies. Her work examines topics including trade, climate change, geopolitical risk, inflation, remittances, and sustainable development using cross-country data. She was part of the Fund Internship Program at the International Monetary Fund in 2024, and she served as a Research Fellow in the Center of Financial Research at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 2023-2024.
