Halah Alattas is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She holds a PhD from Edinburgh Napier University Business School, a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Essex, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Research and Methodology from Edinburgh Napier University. Her research focuses on labor market dynamics in emerging economies, with particular emphasis on educational mismatch, overeducation, and the underutilization of human capital. Through her work, she examines how education systems and labor markets interact, and how mismatches between qualifications and employment opportunities shape individual outcomes and broader economic development.
