Laila Elgindy is a Senior Research and Project Associate at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the American University in Cairo and an econometrician working at the intersection of entrepreneurship, economic development, and inclusive growth. She focuses on translating research into practice through programs, policy-relevant discussions, and ecosystem-level initiatives that support entrepreneurs, SMEs, women, youth, underserved communities, family businesses, and financial institutions, with particular emphasis on financial inclusion, sustainability, governance, and education. Her experience spans research and data analysis, program design, stakeholder engagement, ecosystem building, and impact assessment, collaborating closely with academic, private sector, and international partners across Egypt and the region. Laila holds an MSc in Development Economics from University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a BA in Economics from The American University in Cairo, with a specialization in Quantitative and Financial Economics.
