Engi Amin is an Assistant Lecturer and Ph.D. student in the Socio-Computing Department at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. With a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and a Master’s in Socio-computing, Engi is also a skilled data scientist with expertise in experimental and computational approaches to studying social behaviors. Her research focuses on behavioral and experimental economics, game theory, social network analysis, and social simulation. Engi’s work delves into complex social phenomena, including the evolution of cooperation, social preferences, and voting behaviors. Her research has been published in journals including the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation, and Democratization. Engi has collaborated on multi-country research projects, delivering insights on affective polarization, social integration, and cooperation in the Arab world. Beyond her academic roles, she has served as an instructor in various workshops, covering topics such as Arabic text mining and machine learning. Engi’s technical skills include expertise in R, Python, and agent-based modeling, and she has facilitated workshops on data analysis across multiple institutions.
