Wifag Adnan
Assistant Professor of Economics, New York University Abu Dhabi
Wifag Adnan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. She has been a research affiliate at the ERF since 2016 and at IZA since 2017. Her research focuses on how labor markets function in developing and emerging economies and the topics she has worked on span labor mobility, job search, unemployment, labor market segmentation, wage differentials, female labor force participation and education. Her research involves quantifying the labor market costs of conflict in politically volatile regions such as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. She was recently awarded a generous Research Enhancement Fund grant to evaluate a major labor reform in Israel and the West Bank. In a separate research agenda, she examines the integration of higher order immigrants in the US and Europe.
