Call for Papers: Structural Models for Policy Evaluation

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to invite submissions for the 18th ZEW Summer Workshop for Young Economists: "Structural Models for Policy Evaluation" in Mannheim on July 4 to 7, 2016. This year's objective is to discuss recent developments and empirical applications of structural models for policy evaluation. The workshop aims at bringing together promising international doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows for four days of intense training by renowned international scholars. The summer school will include lectures by three leading economists and paper presentations allowing the participants to present and discuss their work, and get advice from the lecturers.   Young scholars who wish to attend the workshop are invited to submit a paper. Papers should use a structural approach to the evaluation of economic policies. We particularly welcome applications from the fields of labor economics and public finance.
Keynote Lecturers: Jérôme Adda (Bocconi University) Christopher Flinn (New York University) Jean-Marc Robin (Sciences Po and University College London)
Advanced doctoral students and postdocs within three years after completion of their thesis are invited to submit a paper. The ZEW Summer Workshop is open to a maximum of 20 participants. There are no participation fees. However, travel and accommodation expenses have to be covered by the participants.   During the summer workshop, the best paper will be honored with the Heinz König Young Scholar Award, which is named after the late founding director of ZEW. An award ceremony will conclude the workshop. The award is sponsored by Wolfgang Franz, the former president of ZEW and former chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts. The prize includes an endowment of 5,000 € as well as a three-month research visit to ZEW.
