The Political Economy of Monetary Policy in Resource-Rich Arab Economies
Politics is a central dimension of macroeconomic policy, which makes policy choices partly determined by political choices. This project explores to what extent political institutions have affected macroeconomic policy (fiscal, financial and monetary) , and through which channels, in the case of Arab resource-rich economies, which have so far shown resilience to shocks owing to the their deep pockets rather than sound institutions.
