Poverty Alleviation in Southern Sudan: The Case of Renk County

This project aimed at evaluating the poverty situation in Southern Sudan taking the Renk County as a case study, focusing on the extent to which development policies are biased in favor of certain areas while neglecting large areas in the South and other parts of the country. The paper argues that this neglect may have contributed to the eruption of civil war between the north and the south in 1983.
