Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Urban Economies: A Comparative Study of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Turkey at the Province Level

The objective of this study is to expand the knowledge of the economic and social characteristics under which MSEs operate in urban regions. The study focuses on Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Turkey. In this context, the study examines the sectors’ current status, existing constraints, potential for growth and types of activities showing promise of development. This better understanding is expected to lend refined policy prescriptions and programs that would allow this sector to realize its potential growth.
