Egypt Chapter: Launch of Progress of Women in the Arab States 2020 Report
FromDec 08, 2020 To Dec 08, 2020
Online Webinar
Join us for the launch of the UN Women report “The Progress of Women in the Arab States 2020: the role of the care economy in promoting gender equality” highlighting the findings of the Egypt chapter. The report demonstrates the extent to which the distribution of unpaid care work in Egypt is highly unequal among men and women, and how it presents a challenge for women’s labour force participation. The report also examines the paid care sector, which can be an important source of employment for women. The accompanying policy brief provides an important insight into the existing care policies and recommendations for the recognition and redistribution of care work. The report was produced by UN Women in partnership with the Economic Research Forum and with the generous support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) as well as the Swiss Development Cooperation. The webinar will be held in English and Arabic with simultaneous translation.
