Women Economic Empowerment

Most countries in the MENA region have adopted a variety of policies and mechanisms for the empowerment of women and the advancement of their rights over the past few decades. And much progress has been made, especially in terms of female literacy and health outcomes. However, the fact remains that women in the region are still at a significant disadvantage when compared to women around the world and the status of males in the region. The gender gap persists, especially in terms of political and economic participation.
