Ulas Karakoc is a Research Fellow at Economic History Institute of Humboldt University Berlin. His research interests lie in economic history, growth, development and conflicts in the Middle East with particular focus on Turkey and Egypt. He obtained his PhD in Economic History at the London School of Economics and Political Science after earning his BA and MA degrees in Mathematics and Economics at Bogazici University in Istanbul.
