Tamara A. Kool

Dr. Tamara A. Kool is a specialist in forced displacement and social (protection) policy. She has a regional focus on the Middle East, and more recently she is also looking at the Netherlands. With evidence-based policy research at the core of her work, she has worked on various research projects and institutional consultancies globally. Presently, she is a researcher at the Verwey-Jonker Instituut. In 2022, she obtained her PhD at Maastricht University on the role of refugee-related policies in shaping labour market engagement of regional-based refugees in the Jordan through the lens of social exclusion. In addition, she is an experienced educator on social protection and human development, having taught Master students and professionals alike.
