Sufian Abdel-Gadir

Associate Professor of Economics, Sultan Qaboos University

Sufian Abdel-Gadir is Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Public Law, and Head of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit (QAAA) at the college of Law, Sultan Qaboos University. He actively participated in the activities of Institutional Quality Audit (IIQA), in SQU. Under his leadership, the college of law successfully obtained the international academic accreditation from FIBBA, Germany, for the period 2019-2024. Academically, he chairs many conferences’ scientific committees and he got the Best Teacher Award, (2018-2019) and Best Academic Advisor in 2020, in the College of Law, Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Sufian published articles in several international journals such as Global Business Review, Sage Publication, Australian Journal of Maritime & Ocean Affairs, Taylor & Francis Production, International Research Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Economic Development, and Journal of World Economic Review. He attends and presents papers in International conferences in Germany, Turkey, Greece, Addis Ababa, Rwanda, Egypt, and Oman. He acts as a reviewer for many articles for the Journal of developing Areas/USA, International Journal for Business and Economics and International Economics Journal. His current research focuses on economic and financial reforms, Private Capital flows, Institutions and Growth, Financial development, Political and Economic freedoms. He holds a PhD in Economics from AUTH, Greece and an MSc in Econometrics and Social Statistics, University of Khartoum, Sudan
