Sufian Abdel-Gadir
Associate Professor of Economics, Sultan Qaboos University
Dr. Sufian Abdel-Gadir is an Associate Professor of Economics at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). He played a leading role in SQU’s Institutional Quality Audit (IIQA), and under his leadership, the College of Law achieved international accreditation from FIBAA, Germany (2019–2024). He has chaired several scientific committees for academic conferences and received the Distinguished Researcher Award (2025), Best Teacher Award (2018–2019), and Best Academic Advisor Award (2020) at SQU. Dr. Abdel-Gadir has secured both internal and external research funding and has published in reputed international journals. He regularly presents papers at international conferences in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. His research focuses on environment and energy economics, economic reforms, financial development, institutions and growth, and political economy. He holds a PhD in Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, and an MSc in Econometrics from the University of Khartoum, Sudan.
