He is a labor and development economist studying the targeting and effectiveness of large-scale social welfare programs, institutions that affect political representation, and the relationship between infrastructure and productivity. He is also a Research Affiliate at IZA Institute of Labor Economics and an Affiliate of the Households in Conflict Network (HiCN).
