Saziye Pelin Akyol

Pelin Akyol joined the Department of Economics at Bilkent University as an Assistant Professor in 2014 upon receiving her Ph.D. degree from Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests are in the fields of applied microeconomics, economics of education and labor economics. Dr. Akyol's current research focuses on gender differences and the sources of inequalities in educational and labor market outcomes. She also has works focusing on the causal relationship between education and non-monetary outcomes such as domestic violence, prosocial behavior, and marriage market outcomes. She published in journals such as the European Economic Review, Journal of Human Capital, Journal of Demographic Economics, Journal of Labor Research, and Annals of Economics and Statistics.
