Dr. Ömer Tuğsal Doruk holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Kadir Has University, Istanbul. His research interests include financial economics, applied economics, and political economy. He has published several books, including Shadow Banking and Turkey, Analysis of the Sovereign Wealth Fund for Economic Growth in the Turkish Economy: An Empirical Assessment, and Smart Contracts, Blockchain Technology, and Capital Market Efficiency: A Potential Examination. He has received the 8th and 11th Orhan Dikmen Best Research Awards. He is also a Research Fellow at the Global Labor Organization (GLO). His research has been published in Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Journal of Economic Issues, Managerial and Decision Economics, Singapore Economic Review, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Eurasian Business Review, Financial Innovation, Finance Research Letters, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, and Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics. He is the Associate Professor at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University. He also serves as a referee for SSCI-indexed journals and is a member of the editorial board of economics at PLOS One.
