
Mohamed Safouane Ben Aissa

Mohamed Safouane Ben Aïssa is a Full Professor of Economics at a Tunis El Manar University and director of a research lab “LaREQuaD”. He is also ERF Research Fellow since 2005. Between 2014 and 2016, Mohamed Safouane served as DirCab of the Tunisian Minister of Economy and Finances. Between 2007 and 2009, He was a special advisor to the Tunisian Governor of Central Bank. His research focuses on (i) monetary policy, its transmission channels in the presence of various distortions (food and fuel subsidies, informality, credit rationing, etc.), (ii) the behavior of financial markets and the effects of contagion, particularly during times of crisis, (iii) the energy transition (including energy efficiency, energy management, avoidance effects, carbon footprint, etc.) and (iv) economic recovery plans through the restructuring of the economy (review of business models, reindustrialization processes, increase in integration rates, investment refinancing, etc.).
