Mayada Hassanain

Mayada Hassanain is a researcher with International Economics Development Associates (IDEAS). Previously she was a researcher at the Feminist Economics project at IEJ, a Chevening Scholar and Atlas Corps fellow. She has a decade of experience as both a researcher and practitioner in economics. Mayada holds a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Khartoum and a Master's in Development Economics from SOAS, University of London. Throughout her career, Mayada has had the opportunity to work with diverse sectors including public, private, and non-governmental organizations. Mayada's research interests focus on political economy, exploring how economic and social policies impact women’s lives. Through her work, she has developed curricula and educational materials that focus on the interplay of economics, gender, and development targeted at civil society activists and researchers in Sudan.
