Maya Hammad

Maya Hammad is a research consultant at the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) focusing on social protection in the MENA region. She has previously worked for NGOs and development-focused consultancy firms in Jordan and the UK. Maya has supported the development of the National Social Protection Strategy for the Jordanian Government and has most recently contributed to research on shock-responsive social protection to the COVID pandemic. Her past research projects have focused on the inclusion and exclusion of Palestinian refugees and stateless persons from social assistance, labour markets and health and education services, which she has presented at the UN Human Rights Council. Maya is a Chevening Scholar and holds a Masters in International Social and Public Policy with a Specialism in Development and a Bachelors in International Relations both from the London School of Economics.
