Manuel A. Zambrano-Monserrate is a renowned economist with a solid academic background. He holds a master's degree and a doctorate in economics. He has accumulated over 15 years of teaching experience, teaching both undergraduate and graduate classes at various universities. His outstanding work as a researcher is reflected in his extensive scientific production, with more than 30 articles published in prestigious journals such as Science of the Total Environment, Resources, Conservation and Recycling, Forest Policy and Economics, Economic Analysis and Policy, Environmental Pollution, among others. In addition to his work as an author, Zambrano also contributes to the academic field as a referee in recognized scientific journals, such as Environmental and Resource Economics, Economic Modelling, and Journal of Business Research, among others. His excellence in research and teaching has earned him recognition, such as the award for best research professor in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at ESPOL in 2015. He is recognized as one of the most cited economists in Ecuador, according to the RePEc repository. Furthermore, in 2024, he was ranked among the Top 2% of the most important researchers globally by Stanford University and Elsevier. His expertise has also been sought after as a consultant and trainer by prestigious institutions such as the Ministry of Environment and the Development Bank of Ecuador, where he has contributed his experience and knowledge in economic matters.
