Dr. Maged K. Mahmoud is a renowned expert in sustainable energy with nearly 30 years of experience. He currently serves as the Acting Executive Director & Technical Director at RCREEE. Dr. Mahmoud holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Power Engineering and has worked on various sustainable energy projects in Egypt, Arab, and Mediterranean regions. He has played a pivotal role in shaping energy strategies, mobilizing funds, and fostering regional cooperation on sustainable energy. Dr. Mahmoud has contributed to over 80 projects, initiatives, and studies, including developing sustainable energy master plans and implementing mechanisms to enhance private sector participation. He has also been instrumental in mobilizing billions of dollars for renewable energy projects and fostering regional cooperation. He has made significant contributions to the advancement of sustainable energy initiatives endorsed by the Arab Ministerial Council of Electricity. Prior to joining RCREEE, Dr. Mahmoud worked as an official in the Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority, where he contributed to setting renewable energy strategies and implementing renewable energy projects. He is a member of several prestigious committees and has authored/co-authored over 50 publications. Dr. Mahmoud is an adjunct lecturer at the British University in Egypt and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and a certified trainer in energy and management. His extensive experience and contributions have made him a leading figure in sustainable energy, driving advancements in sustainable energy policies and projects across the Arab region.
