H.E. Hala Elsaid

Economic Advisor to H.E. President of Egypt and University Counselor at the American University in Cairo

H.E. Dr. Hala Elsaid is a distinguished economist and academic, named Best Arab Minister in 2020. As Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Chair of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, she led key national initiatives including Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Structural Reform Program. She is known for her work in sustainable development, gender inclusion, and youth empowerment. Dr. Elsaid holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cairo University, with significant positions held in banking and academia. She was the first elected Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University and has served on the board of the Central Bank of Egypt. Her research focuses on economic reform, sustainable development, and gender-responsive planning.
