Hala ElBehairy

Research Associate, J-PAL Middle East and North Africa

Hala ElBehairy is a Research Associate at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa. She works on evaluating the impact of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity’s program to improve access to nurseries and employment services on mothers' labor market outcomes and early childhood development. Prior to joining J-PAL in 2021, she worked as a Consultant at The International Institute for Educational Planning IIEP-UNESCO and also as a Research Assistant for different projects related to the Labor Market Dynamics and Female Labor Force Participation in the MENA region. Hala holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy/Applied economics from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and a dual Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and Cairo University.
