Gihan Bayoumi Attia

Ms. Attia brings over 20 years of experience in the environmental and energy sectors. She is specialized in policy formulation, program identification, implementation and monitoring as well as co-ordination of these at various levels. Ms. Attia has good experience in establishing linkages and interaction with partner organizations from government to grass roots level and in spreading best practices, sharing knowledge and building team spirit and partnerships. She is always recognized as having a talent for working with high level officials and having the ability to work effectively in multicultural and politically sensitive environments. Ms. Attia has been working in UNIDO as a Programme officer since approximately 11 years. She manages the energy portfolio in UNIDO Egypt and is responsible for the overall coordination of the execution of various projects such as the Industrial Energy Efficiency project, the Solar Heating in Industrial Applications project, the Egyptian programme for promoting energy efficient motors as well as other projects. She contributes to the transition to a sustainable energy future in Egypt under the overarching UNIDO mandate of inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
