Eman Refaat works as a Senior Economic Specialist at the Department of Economic Development, Dubai government. Her work is among the Dubai Competitiveness Office for supporting policy and decision-making processes through managing and contributing to research projects. Before joining Department of Economic Development, she worked as a Senior Researcher in the Egyptian Government – Information and Decision Support Center among the Social contract Center team. Eman worked as a Trainer in implementing rounds of Capacity Building workshops on measures and indicators of poverty and inequality. Eman also participated as Editor, Statistician and Researcher with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Moreover, she participated in constructing and measuring the Youth Wellbeing Index in Egypt that was published in Egypt Human Development Report EHDR, UNDP. Eman holds a Master Degree M.Sc. in Statistics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University and a B.Sc. with Major in Statistics and Minor in Economics. Her research spans Economic and Statistical Research, Construction of indicators and composite indexes, Sector Based Research (Tourism, Real Estate, Education, Manufacturing, Labour Productivity, Social Research), Development, Competitiveness, and Growth and Wellbeing.
