Elsa Faivre

Elsa Faivre is a development professional with 10 years of experience. She graduated both from a Master’s Degree in Finance from HEC and from a Master’s Degree in Economics in the French “Ecole Normale Supérieure”. She started out by working in an Equity Investment Fund (Amethis Finance) and then in a Strategy Consulting firm (Okan consulting), two companies only dedicated to Africa countries financing. She joined the AFD group in 2015 with initial postings in Financial department and Banking Operations in Proparco (AFD subsidiary dedicated to Private sector financing). During these years in AFD Paris headquarters, she worked on affordable housing, climate finance and innovation skims. Since September 2023, Elsa FAIVRE joined Cairo AFD office as Head of Unit for Agriculture, rural development and sustainable finance. This important portfolio deals with many different stakeholders and sectors, from climate intervention, gender finance, to food security and agriculture financing to small farmers
